The man in front of him took his breath away. If the venue had asked him to spell out his type, the VR man couldn’t have matched it more closely. His hair was dark, short, but thick, and framing his handsome face, with the front just a little spiked up. His eyes were blue and twinkling like sun on a deep ocean. His lips were so enticing Nate’s chest hurt from wanting to kiss them, and his body promised hard muscles under the gray business suit he wore like a model in a fashion magazine. The jacket swung open to reveal a black t-shirt as the man raised his arms and put them around Nate’s neck.

“Hi, babe. It’s great to see you.” The guy greeted Nate and then kissed him.

Nate’s entire body went into meltdown. The kiss was so real he grabbed the VR man and pulled him close, crushing against him.

The man returned the kiss but gradually drew away. He held Nate’s hand and brought him to a table outside the café. “Let’s get coffee. Did you eat yet? You look tired.” He reached out a hand and swept gentle fingertips down Nate’s cheek.

Surprised at the comforting gesture, Nate closed his eyes for a second to soak up the touch. He opened them and gazed at his VR boyfriend. “I’d like to hear about your day. I’m not hungry, coffee’s fine.” What will I call him? Does he have a name or do I just assign him one? Hell, he is gorgeous.

A server brought coffee. “How lovely to see you again, Jason, and you’ve brought Nate along tonight. The usual for you both?”

Nate blinked under the beaming smile from her. How does it know my name? Must read the credit card or Cory keys it in when he sets the room going.

She placed their cups on the table.

Jason. Nate smiled at his VR man. Yeah. I like that—a mythical name for an unreal guy.

At the head of a narrow corridor, a man lounged against the wall, one foot on the chair behind his desk and a smartphone clamped to his ear.

Nate hung around in front of the desk.

The man ended his call.

Nate’s gaze ranged over the bright polo shirt and ‘Splat’ logo. This man wore a name badge. Cory.

Cory gave him an apologetic smile as he slid the phone into his pocket.

Nate held out the card the nameless young woman had given him.

Cory took it, glanced at it. “I need you to fill in this waiver. It basically says we’re not liable for your health and accidents etc. Just print your name and sign it. Nothing ever happens, so it’s just a cover.” He gave Nate a pen and placed a small printed form on the desk in front of him from a tray of them in the corner.

Nate printed and signed the form without bothering to read it. What could happen?

Cory took the form and pushed it into a slot only just noticeable in the top of the desk, and then with a series of nods as he spoke, came around the desk to Nate. As if imparting secrets to Nate, the man leaned close. “Our sex experience has three levels. ‘Girl or boyfriend date.’ ‘One night stand date.’ ‘Intense.’ Of course, if it’s a different kind of pleasure you’re after, say eating your favorite foods without the fear of weight gain—”

Nate shook his head. His voice low, he cut off the guy’s speech. “Sex, with a man, handsome, believable.” Then worried the man would label him as a pervert if he went right for ‘Intense, Nate added, “’Boyfriend experience.’”

Cory stepped back. “Sure, but I don’t choose it. I just set the room going when you’re in it. You choose the experience on the computer provided.”

“No headset?”

Cory shook his head. “This is VR in the round—full-on holodeck stuff like in science fiction. It’ll cost you. The company’s spent a lot on the highest tech their specialists can build. Even in the ordinary VR courts, there’s never any break up of picture, no cyber sickness, the best sound. The private rooms are spectacular. Take my word for it. I’ll need your credit card. We’ll charge it when you leave the room automatically. Do you want to go ahead?”

Nate took a deep breath, brought out his wallet, handed over the plastic, and answered. “Sure.”

Cory took his credit card. “Follow me.”

Nate tried to see into the rooms he passed. Mirrored glazing blocked his view. He saw his own blurry wide-eyed face as he picked up his pace to follow Cory.

Cory stopped at a door. He inserted Nate’s credit card into a device situated at shoulder height on the wall next to the door. The door swung open.
“When you want to end the session, open the door. That will trigger the payment and you’ll be able to retrieve your card, until then it’s secure inside the system. Enjoy.”
Cory turned away.

Nate rushed into the room just in case the door closed before he’d entered. He popped his head around the doorframe to see Cory walking purposefully away, his smartphone again clasped to his ear.

Nate turned and entered the room. The door swung shut behind him. Surprised there was furniture dotted around the large space, Nate took in the tables and chairs, the bed, the low leather couch. He scanned the wall for the choices panel that Cory had mentioned. A computer screen, inlaid into the wall, lit up as if sensing Nate’s stare. He gazed around once again before he turned to the computer. Okay, well here goes. Start at level one. A touch screen, it responded to Nate’s cautious fingertip on the button next to ‘Boyfriend Experience.’

He followed Justin out of the room and down the corridor into what looked like a wardrobe room. Rails of clothes lined one wall and baskets of accessories and other items dotted the floor space.

Justin stopped walking and turned abruptly.

Caer reared back to avoid bumping into him.

“We’ll take my car into the village and get something to eat, but first I’d like to explain.” The actor’s voice held sincerity. His eyes held a plea.

“Explain?”

“Yeah … I couldn’t go through with the kiss until I’d let you know what to expect. I, er, I like to kiss for real. It just doesn’t look right on camera kissing someone on the chin or missing their lips any way you can. You know … there’s no passion in it … what do you think? Will it be okay?”

Justin’s fabulous blue-gray eyes searched Caer’s face.

“I can do that. Sure.” Caer softened his voice. He gazed at Justin’s mouth. “Show me. Kiss me.” You are adorable. I know you want to fuck me bad.

Relief entered Justin’s expression. He leaned toward Caer. His eyes closed.

Caer met him. The kiss sent waves of pleasure through Caer. His stomach clenched. He lifted his arms and held Justin. The gentle merge of lips on lips teased him and he slipped a palm along Justin’s jaw, prolonging the kiss, soaking up the sexy feel of stubble rasping on his skin.

Justin drew away. He gazed at Caer. “Hell, that was some kiss.”

Fall in love with Caer Rossi and Justin Harper

I loved writing this story. I'd had the idea in my head for nearly a year, but life got in the way of my writing for a while there. When I finally wrote the story, it flowed onto the computer because I knew Caer and Justin so well.
Their love story is hot and heart wrenching. There are places in the story I wanted to shock because life throws wildcards at everyone now and then. I also wanted the guys to love each other deeply.
Justin hides a fun-loving trait until the end of the story when I hope readers will see how much he loves Caer.

“I should get home.” Owain closed the trunk and walked with Rowan to the cottage.

Rowan led the way down the hall and into the dining room where he placed the box he carried on a long table. “Why, Owain? Is someone there waiting for you? Do you have a boyfriend?” His cock still strained against his jeans, and he ached to hold Owain close. It was as if he’d already become addicted to the gorgeous man who glanced at him with his sexy dark eyes.

Without answering, Owain carefully placed the box of mistletoe on the table.

Rowan gazed at Owain. He had to know right then if this man was available. “Tell me.”

Owain’s eyes filled with what looked to Rowan like pleasure and amusement—a strange mix of emotions.

Rowan smiled, happier. “Please.”

“I have no one waiting for me. I don’t have a boyfriend, lover, or partner. I have somewhere to be, though. There’s always a family gathering for Yule. People come from across the country. I always help plan it.” He smiled and touched Rowan’s arm. “We could meet tomorrow.”

The smile and suggestion sent waves of happiness over Rowan. “I’ll come out to the car with you. We’ll make arrangements.” He followed Owain to the driver’s side of the SUV.

Owain leaned against the door and held out his arms.

Rowan’s heart leapt as he saw the gesture. There was no one to see, and he surged into Owain’s arms, pushing his cock on Owain’s hard body. “You’ll never know how welcome this is, to press against you, to have you hold me. Owain, I want you so badly. I can’t believe it.” He murmured the words a breath away from Owain’s lips—then Owain kissed him. It was like falling into a soft, sexual haze that lifted him from his feet. His eyes closed, heavy with lust, and he grabbed Owain’s hips to thrust his lower body along Owain’s until with a groan he contacted the hard column of Owain’s cock. “You want me, too.”

He comes to Indigo seeking a spell that will bring him the love of a handsome man #scifi #fantasy #MMromance sizzling #gayromance

Gorgeous, powerful warlock, Indigo Vaughn, sells his magic spells to people looking to make a dream come true. One night, as he gazes down on the city below from his sky barge The Dreamboat, he wonders why, in centuries, his own wish for a man to love hasn’t materialized.
Beautiful, sexy, Darian O’Harr has suffered his fair share of misery. He’s a musician and learned long ago to sing for his supper. New to the city, he comes to Indigo seeking a spell that will bring him the love of a handsome man.
As soon as he sets eyes on Indigo, his heart races and his body betrays his pent up needs.
Here is the man of his dreams. What can Darian do as the warlock gathers his magic to cast a spell that will bring him another man?

Read the teaser

Read a story excerpt

Darian waited until Milan couldn’t see him from the skeeter, and then he circled the grounds and took the back gate to the path that would lead him away from the royal quarter of the city. He sped home, walking at a pace, his cloak wrapped around him, and all the time his thoughts spun. When Indigo had asked to see him again soon, he’d somehow invited his lover, his love, to visit his home. Darian didn’t know if he’d extended the invitation so that if Indigo was going to leave him because he was poor, it would happen fast and save him severe heartbreak, or if he hoped Indigo would accept his poverty, and his anxiety would diminish leaving him free to love Indigo. I’ve fallen in love with him. I never saw it coming. I wonder if he did? If he loves me, that is…

Darian passed one of the better apartment buildings. Less ancient and better kept than the one he currently lived in, the turrets gleamed lilac in the sun and willow trees draped over low white walls surrounding the building. Huge pots of jasmine stood at the bottom of the stoop. The sign he’d noticed a few days previously still hung from the wide pillared porch. ‘Apartment vacant, apply within.’

He paused. It can’t hurt to look. He walked up the path. The rich scent of jasmine wafted over him. He rang the bell.

The concierge showed him the apartment. It had a long balcony overlooking a bend in the stream that wound past the castle and fed the half-moat. Wild roses blossomed on the bank. The morning breeze played with pale pink petals, lifting them and scattering them gently into the sparkling water.

Darian fell in love with apartment. It was clean and bright with light from long windows. The pale floors of polished wood added to the charm. It sat close to the border delineating the royal quarter so would only take him minutes to walk to work.

“Yes, I’ll take it.” Surprise widened his eyes as he heard the words falling from his mouth.

“Two moons’ rent up front is required before you move anything in—one for the rent, one for security. You’ll need to sign a contract. Any nonsense, noise, bawdy behavior, litter, damage, and you’re out. I don’t give warnings. I don’t give back the security money.”

Darian cringed under the suspicious gaze of the concierge. He’d expected a less alarming transaction. He only paid weekly for the place he currently lived in. The landlord there was kinder in manner. He thought about the invitation he’d given to Indigo. How wonderful it would be to meet Indigo at the castle and bring him here instead of to his dusty little rooms in the poor area of the city. “I need to bring the money later today after I’ve collected payment for my work.”

The concierge smirked. “Work at Temptations do ya, pretty boy?”

Darian recoiled and shook his head. “I do not. Not that anyone who does is … is inferior. I’m a musician.”

“Right then, if you’re not back with payment by fifteen hundred hours the place goes to the next applicant.”

Darian nodded and backed away.

Karl gathered him close and held him.

Liam rested his face against Karl’s. A soft purring sound filtered through the haze of sex and intense feeling of belonging where Liam drifted. Happiness blanketed him and he listened, intrigued for a moment, then turned his face to capture Karl’s mouth in a kiss. “Hell, that was so good.”

Karl drew away. He pulled up his pants and clipped them closed. He straightened the fashionable thin black tie that still adorned his white linen shirt. He went to the hand basin and rinsed his hands. He splashed cold water on his face and ran his hands through his lush hair, forming darker streaks in the blond.

Liam watched fascinated by the fluidity in the gorgeous man’s actions and the way his muscles moved beneath his clothes. He dragged his jeans up, and pulled down his T-shirt left part way up his chest from when Karl had licked him. The memory gave him a spike of desire. He smiled at Karl, wanting to arrange to see the man again—to meet him—date him—get to know him.

Karl turned. His words speared Liam. “I need to go. I enjoyed being with you.”

Liam’s frown reflected his disappointment. He reached out. “Hey, wait, will I see you again?”

Karl had opened the door and was through it. He didn’t answer.

Liam washed up and sat on the bench. He gazed at the blue tiled floor and tried to stop feeling desolate. The encounter with Karl had raised hopes he’d pushed away in recent months. His body still felt relaxed and mellow from the fantastic orgasm Karl had given him, but an aching empty space had opened in his heart. It scared the hell out of him. He stood and wandered out to the bar.

Milo gave him a knowing look, obviously designed to tell Liam he knew about the tryst.

Liam left. He walked to his car in the warm, satiny, summer night air.

By all the stars why? He gathered his magic as sadness weighed on his shoulders. #MMromance WIP for #midweektease

Midweek Tease is from WIP , MMromance, Fantasy, The Dreamboat

Indigo Vaughn stared down at the lights of the city far below. His sky barge, The Dreamboat, sailed majestically and wonderfully slowly through the night sky. The city and surrounding outer suburbs spread out like a twinkling jeweled carpet. Indigo sighed as his imagination took flight, and he dreamed up a beautiful man waiting there just for him. He will be muscled and tall, and have eyes that remind me of the deep blue sea off the coast of my Celtic home.
He drew in a ragged breath. The pain in remembering the far away and long ago place hit him like a spear in his heart. He forced himself on. I will twist my fingers in his night-dark hair and drag him to my kiss. His sexy lips will taste better than the sweetest wine, and once I have kissed him he’ll be mine forever.

Indigo rested his forehead on the special glass of the window. He closed his eyes. He didn’t expect ever to meet this dream man. He’d lived for so long without love he sometimes wondered how much longer he could withstand the crushing sadness of his empty life.

Indigo could conjure the dreams of his clients, producing the spell for what they craved on The Dreamboat. Sometimes they lived their dream for the rest of their lives. Sometimes they simply fucked up the chance he gave them. Indigo opened his eyes and saw that the sky barge was over one of the huge lakes on the outskirts of the city.

It is my eternal curse never to conjure my own dream. I shouldn’t torture myself. I was warned.

He saw movement on the surface of the lake. Water boats crisscrossed the placid surface. Indigo left the window, exited his private quarters, and walked with all the grace he could muster to the consulting room. Two clients awaited him that night.

His assistant, Milan, greeted him as he entered the anteroom.
“Good evening, sir. The first of your clients is prepared.”

Indigo bestowed a grateful smile on Milan. “Thank you. I’ve read her request document and this won’t take long.”

He took a deep breath before he went into the consulting room. “Let nothing go wrong.” He always said this. It was his mantra to ward off anything bad, because Indigo, even after centuries, had never quite become used to his magic.

Milan responded to his call for the next client as soon as the woman left smiling after her consultation. He led the next client into the room. “Darian O’Harr, sir.”

Indigo kept his head bowed as if still reading this man’s request document. Immediately Milan and the client entered, the room had filled with expectation, hope, and as Indigo finally raised his eyes to the client’s, the air sparked and charged with sexual attraction. Indigo gazed at the man standing before him. His heart hammered in his chest as if trying to burst through the perfectly toned muscles and his dark shirt. Long ago he’d felt something like this, but the occasion was distant. Right then, he could barely breathe with the sensation as he attempted to appear impervious to the sight before him.

“Good evening. I’ve read your request and can grant your wish.” Indigo had to take a deep breath in order to go on. “Tell me, are you attending the festivities in the city for the queen’s name day?”

The beautiful man still stood. He cast a glance at the chair positioned an arm’s length away from Indigo’s own seat. His ocean eyes regarded Indigo, filling with amusement and kindness. “May I sit?”

Indigo closed his eyes for a second. He couldn’t control the desire that zapped through his body. Amazed by his reaction, he forced himself to nod calmly. “Of course, forgive my discourtesy.”

Darian O’Harr gave him a smile. “Thank you.” He drew aside his cloak, revealing an almost transparent cotton shirt that did nothing to conceal his hard muscled chest and allowing the sides of the cloak to fall over his hips, he sat.

Indigo feasted on the sight—dark, glossy hair, cut in a style that showed off the planes of his delectably handsome face and lips that enticed kisses. This man was his dream personified. It was heartbreaking. Indigo wondered if he’d be able to conjure the spell to give Darian O’Harr the lover he asked for. Indigo wanted Darian so much, his stomach ached, his chest hurt, his magic retreated under the blue gaze of the client.

“I, er, I will conjure the circumstances so that your wish is fulfilled. I note, I note that you prefer men.” Indigo glanced away from the expectant stare of this hunk before him. By all the stars why… He gathered his magic as sadness weighed on his shoulders. The only man I’ve seen in years who stirs my soul and I have to conjure another man to be his lover. He drove away the thoughts, and concentrated on a place, a time, a man who loosely fit the description Darian had written on the request document.
In his mind’s eye, he saw the man, walking past a small marquee, the night lit with fireworks to celebrate the queen’s name day. Indigo pushed for the spell and raised his hands to form the magic into the usual glowing silver sphere

“Stop.” His client stood and grasped Indigo’s hands in his own cool, strong palms.

Liam's muse

Suddenly, beside him, reflected in the mirror-tiled back splash of the bar, his quarry leaned casually against the faux marble counter—the dark haired man and the light haired man, as tall and beautiful as each other.

It felt to Liam as if all the air had been sucked out of the room, and replaced with extreme sexual tension. Sex vibrated from the blonde. Liam took a ragged breath. He’d never experienced anything like it. He attempted to lift his glass, seeking the cold water against the rising heat in his balls and the gradual hardening of his cock.

“I saw you here last night. Can I get you another drink?”

The low voiced words flowed over Liam.
He edged his tall frame around to face the man. As he opened his mouth to answer he drank in the sight of the hunk beside him—green eyes the color of fresh grass—startlingly handsome face and a mouth that practically begged for kissing. Liam couldn’t help dropping his gaze and soaked up the implication of the bulge in the blonde’s suit pants. He raised his eyes and saw desire darken the enchanting verdant gaze.

“It’s iced water, thank you…”
