The #warlock head of royal security is on the warpath #Halloween #teaser #gayromance #suspense #MMromance #fantasy #teaser @evernightpub

String of Pearls

The story is set in the same SciFi fantasy city as last year’s release, The Dreamboat.

Indigo Vaughn, the warlock head of security, features in the story along with a new cast of characters. When I wrote The Dreamboat, I already had the new characters in my head along with their story. Tobias Mars and Dante Pepper, the elite space pilots for the royal court, very nearly made an appearance in The Dreamboat, but because that story is about Indigo at last finding love, I decided they needed their own story.

Once upon a time Dante and Tobias were close to becoming lovers, but Dante met Viridian and fell in love. Tobias has yet to meet his love when String of Pearls, opens. He’s a man of high integrity, handsome, caring, but also longing for love and sex. String of Pearls is his love story.

String of Pearls

Elite space pilot, Tobias Mars is completing a special mission when he discovers Dreft Hann hiding and injured in the sand dunes of a water planet, recently ravaged by space pirates.

There’s instant attraction between the two men, but honorable Tobias believes the fact Dreft is in his care precludes him from showing his growing love for the young man. What’s worse is his shocking discovery of Dreft’s real identity. Even so, Tobias can’t deny his feelings for Dreft.

When head of royal security, powerful warlock, Indigo Vaughn discovers Dreft’s secret, he anticipates trouble.

As beautiful Dreft falls in love with Tobias and dreams of joining the elite pilot squad, trouble is brewing from someone in Dreft’s past.

Will love finally win with so many obstacles in Tobias and Dreft’s path?

Read the teaser

Viridian took the path that led to the rear of Dante’s dwelling and the garden door that always remained unlocked. No one expected anything but safety within the castle walls. He silently turned the white crystal handle and entered. He knew the layout of furniture in the room, and so Viridian made his way across it without glancing around. He’d negotiated the long leather couch, on his way to Dante’s bedchamber, when a voice sent surprise and fear spiking through his body.

“I thought you’d slip up one day.”

Viridian spun around to peer through the darkness at the man who lounged on a chair in the corner of the room. “Who are you and why are you in Dante Pepper’s home?” He put authority into his tone hoping this would confuse the man.

A soft sound reached him—a muffled click of fingers. A bright blue flash accompanied the click, and then the room lit up. Somehow, the man had lit the ceiling and floor lamps without using the panel of switches on the wall.

Viridian stared at the man who sat confidently, one leg crossed over the other and with a smile on his gorgeous face.

“Indigo Vaughn.” Viridian’s shoulders drooped. His voice dropped to a murmur.

The head of royal security and powerful warlock stood and walked toward him.

“Exactly right and you are?”

“Viridian Kaa, I’m Dante’s friend. Where is he?” Viridian glanced over his shoulder as the realization that Dante couldn’t be home sank in. His lover hadn’t rushed to his aid. The bedchamber door remained closed.

“Friends do not usually scale the courtyard walls and slink into homes in the night.”

Viridian sighed and sat heavily on the arm of the couch. “Dante likes me to surprise him. I’m not a robber, or, or worse.”

A flicker of emotion passed through Indigo Vaughn’s blue eyes. He studied Viridian for a long moment. “You’re a whore.”

Indignation made Viridian’s voice harsh. “No, no I am not. I’m Dante’s … his … his friend.”

Indigo’s eyes traveled over Viridian’s bare chest in an appraising gaze, and then he stared intently into his eyes. In calm measured tones, Indigo continued his scrutiny.

“Being a whore is not shameful, Viridian Kaa. Are you his lover? I want the truth. Without it, you won’t discover where Dante Pepper is tonight. Don’t be afraid. I will understand.” The blue eyes held sincerity.

Truly, because if this is a trick and Dante’s reputation is in any way tarnished I swear … I swear, warlock or not, you’ll regret it.”

Indigo laughed aloud. “You are his lover.”

“I am his lover. We’re lovers. I love him. There … now you know.”

“Dante Pepper is on a special mission to the next world. He’ll be back at dawn. If you aren’t going to wait for him here I’ll see you out of the grounds.”

“A special mission and he didn’t tell me. Is it dangerous? I’ll wait for him.”

“The package Dante is bringing from the other world is important to the queen. However, he should not be in danger.” Indigo gave him a thoughtful look. “I’ve suspected someone scaled the wall now and then, but since there was no crime associated with it I didn’t give it priority. You have no pattern to your visits, neither are they often, for a lover.”

“Dante comes to my home or we meet in Temptations.”

Viridian could tell the answer satisfied the head of security when he nodded.

“Right then, I’ll tell Dante about our meeting. Good night to you.” Indigo Vaughn strode across the room and out the door.

Viridian sighed with relief.

Meet #warlock Indigo Vaughn in this #gayromance #scifi #fantasy #teaser for #Halloween The Dreamboat @evernightpub The man pulled his hood down. “Indigo Vaughn.” Darian breathed the name.

Gorgeous, powerful warlock, Indigo Vaughn, sells his magic spells to people looking to make a dream come true. One night, as he gazes down on the city below from his sky barge, The Dreamboat, he wonders why, in centuries, his own wish for a man to love hasn’t materialized.

Beautiful, sexy, Darian O’Harr has suffered his fair share of misery. He’s a musician and learned long ago to sing for his supper. New to the city, he comes to Indigo seeking a spell that will bring him the love of a handsome man.

As soon as he sets eyes on Indigo, his heart races and his body betrays his pent up needs.

Here is the man of his dreams. What can Darian do as the warlock gathers his magic to cast a spell that will bring him another man?

Read the teaser.

His thoughts halted as a man stepped into his path halfway across the wooden bridge to the rear of the castle outer gardens. Shock sped through Darian. Time stood still filled only with sounds—the rush of the water beneath the bridge and the slap of a loose canvas door on a small marquee nearby. Darian expected robbery or a beating, or worse. He froze, waiting for the man to reveal his intentions.

The man pulled his hood down.

“Indigo Vaughn.” Darian breathed the name.

“I am. What are you doing here, lurking at the rear of the castle?”

Darian’s stomach lurched with attraction and fear. He gazed at Indigo. He delighted in the lush dark hair, just long enough to give the warlock a dashing air, the piercing ice-blue eyes glinting sapphire in the last shimmer of light from the fireworks, the hot muscled body beneath the warrior’s leather jerkin, and Darian’s cock shot into an erection. He took a chance. “I knew you’d be patrolling here and I’m desperate to see you, talk with you, as, as just men, who, who like each other.” His brave words faltered and his voice dropped to a whisper.

A long moment of silence followed.

He thought Indigo was about to strike him, but the handsome warlock raised his hand, took hold of Darian’s hood, and pushed it from his face.

“Darian O’Harr.” Surprise rang in Indigo’s voice.

“I mean what I say. I can’t stop thinking about you.”

Indigo ran his fingertips down Darian’s cheek and rubbed the pad of his thumb across his lips.

Darian’s breath caught. The touch closed his eyes as lust rampaged over him.

Indigo moved his hand to Darian’s head, running his fingers among Darian’s hair. Slowly he brought his head to Darian’s.

The air between their faces sparked with desire and Darian moved to meet Indigo’s lips. The kiss nearly brought Darian to his knees.

Find some magic with MM romance in #FirstChapterFriday from Hidden Magic #gayromance @parr_books @evernightpub

First Chapter Friday
from Hidden Magic

Gorgeous Owain Lovage belongs to an ancient family of elven beings. A glamor hides his elf beauty as he runs a reindeer farm and visitor center in an English rural town. He’s yearning for a handsome, sexy man in his life. Owain hardly uses his magic these days, but that’s about to change.
Rowan Carter reluctantly leaves California to stay with his folks on vacation for the holiday season in the town where he fleetingly meets Owain.
Captivated by Owain’s looks and masculinity, Rowan seeks him out.
Melting hot kisses in the snow are only the start of what he has in mind to do with this red hot guy.
A deep erotic passion ignites between the two handsome men and sets in motion an ancient magic spell that will change both their lives forever.

Chapter One

“Hey, Rowan, you might meet that special someone.”
Rowan made a face at his friend. “Unlikely—and if I did, what good would it be? He’d live in a different country. Here’s the real question. How am I going to stave off the boredom? There’ll be no parties, no special nights at our favorite gay bar—”

Jason shook his head as he interrupted Rowan. “I despair of you. Why go if that’s going to be your attitude?”

Rowan shrugged, knowing his friend had a valid point, but all the same, the optimistic comments from his group of friends over the last couple of months had begun to irritate him. When he needed a hug, empathy, and someone to let him wallow in misery for a while after his relationship break up, their constant attempts at cheerfulness hadn’t helped him heal his broken heart. He wished they’d just let him be gloomy for a few weeks, and as for him meeting someone special, Rowan had lost hope. It had taken so long to meet the man who’d finally broken his heart. Sex was easy to obtain, but love—not so much.
Rowan pushed his sandwich away and leaned back from the café table he shared with Jason. “I’m going to see my parents, and that will be good. They’ve wanted to take this vacation for a long time, and now Dad says he loves the place and wants to stay for a couple of months. I have to visit. It would be mean not to, but as for meeting someone I’ll expect nothing and that way I won’t be disappointed.”

Jason gave a loud sigh. “Look at this as an adventure. You might even get a white Christmas. You’ve never been farther than Palm Springs.”

Rowan tried to smile. “I know, but I’ve never wanted to. I’m happy here I kinda dread the eleven-hour flight.”

“Cowboy up, Rowan.” Jason grinned, then obviously giving up on the conversation he added, “Are you going to eat that sandwich, ’cos if not, let’s go. I’m meeting Paul at two.”

An unwelcome spike of jealousy at Jason’s mention of his husband made Rowan bow his head. “I’m not really hungry. Let’s go.” They’d already paid, so he stood and walked to the exit.

Jason followed him into the bright sunshine of the unseasonably hot LA day.
****
Owain Lovage closed the farm office gate and stepped away to survey his handiwork. The entire building glowed with Christmas lights. Snowflakes drifted in the frosty air, glistening as they fell through the beams of white sparkling light. A smile wreathed Owain’s face. He gazed past the building to the rows of stables where strings of festive lights entwined all the trees that lined the paths. Owain sighed with pleasure when each cloud of snowflakes changed color as they danced past the green, red, and blue lights.

It was only four PM, but an indigo sky heralded complete darkness and Owain had sent his staff home early. Owain expected the gentle fall of snow to turn heavy during the night. Two red deer returned to the farm having visited a nearby Christmas tree outlet to show off their antlers and pretend they led Santa’s sleigh on Christmas night. He gave them fresh straw and feed as he talked to them, went around the rest of the stables to check everything was perfect, and then he and three of the other staff had clambered around the office roof anchoring the seasonal lights. He hadn’t needed the help. In fact, if he’d wanted to, he could have gathered his magic and produced the decorations, but involving his staff was more fun. Owain didn’t use his magic much or often. He thought it was better that way.

He walked along the wide gravel drive to the car park, empty now of staff vehicles. His SUV stood under one of the silvery safety spotlights that perched on poles around the lot.

Owain lived at the end of the lane, but he’d needed to visit the village store at lunchtime or face having nothing for dinner that night, so he’d driven to work that morning. Sometimes Owain walked, and sometimes, when the snow was deep enough, he used his two huge and favorite red deer stags to pull a small sled. He loved those times, even though his colleagues thought it ostentatious. That was because they didn’t really know him, not the man who hid behind the frequently renewed glamor—the man whose pointed ears were pierced with rose-shaped diamonds, and whose dark hair held a streak of glowing silver. Owain belonged to the last family of elven people in the country. As far as he knew none of his family had seen or heard from any others in centuries.

He got into his car and glanced at his reflection in the mirror. He could see through the spell cast to disguise his true looks when he wanted to, but over the years Owain had become attached to his human appearance. It wasn’t so far from reality. He only dropped the glamor at family gatherings, just as the rest of his kin did. Yule was one of those times, and Owain smiled as he started the car. Snow layered on snow making white the dark gravel of the car lot, and Owain’s eyes twinkled. Nothing pleased him more than a white Christmas, although the hard body of a man naked in his arms came a close second.

By all the stars why? He gathered his magic as sadness weighed on his shoulders. #MMromance WIP for #midweektease

Midweek Tease is from WIP , MMromance, Fantasy, The Dreamboat

Indigo Vaughn stared down at the lights of the city far below. His sky barge, The Dreamboat, sailed majestically and wonderfully slowly through the night sky. The city and surrounding outer suburbs spread out like a twinkling jeweled carpet. Indigo sighed as his imagination took flight, and he dreamed up a beautiful man waiting there just for him. He will be muscled and tall, and have eyes that remind me of the deep blue sea off the coast of my Celtic home.
He drew in a ragged breath. The pain in remembering the far away and long ago place hit him like a spear in his heart. He forced himself on. I will twist my fingers in his night-dark hair and drag him to my kiss. His sexy lips will taste better than the sweetest wine, and once I have kissed him he’ll be mine forever.

Indigo rested his forehead on the special glass of the window. He closed his eyes. He didn’t expect ever to meet this dream man. He’d lived for so long without love he sometimes wondered how much longer he could withstand the crushing sadness of his empty life.

Indigo could conjure the dreams of his clients, producing the spell for what they craved on The Dreamboat. Sometimes they lived their dream for the rest of their lives. Sometimes they simply fucked up the chance he gave them. Indigo opened his eyes and saw that the sky barge was over one of the huge lakes on the outskirts of the city.

It is my eternal curse never to conjure my own dream. I shouldn’t torture myself. I was warned.

He saw movement on the surface of the lake. Water boats crisscrossed the placid surface. Indigo left the window, exited his private quarters, and walked with all the grace he could muster to the consulting room. Two clients awaited him that night.

His assistant, Milan, greeted him as he entered the anteroom.
“Good evening, sir. The first of your clients is prepared.”

Indigo bestowed a grateful smile on Milan. “Thank you. I’ve read her request document and this won’t take long.”

He took a deep breath before he went into the consulting room. “Let nothing go wrong.” He always said this. It was his mantra to ward off anything bad, because Indigo, even after centuries, had never quite become used to his magic.

Milan responded to his call for the next client as soon as the woman left smiling after her consultation. He led the next client into the room. “Darian O’Harr, sir.”

Indigo kept his head bowed as if still reading this man’s request document. Immediately Milan and the client entered, the room had filled with expectation, hope, and as Indigo finally raised his eyes to the client’s, the air sparked and charged with sexual attraction. Indigo gazed at the man standing before him. His heart hammered in his chest as if trying to burst through the perfectly toned muscles and his dark shirt. Long ago he’d felt something like this, but the occasion was distant. Right then, he could barely breathe with the sensation as he attempted to appear impervious to the sight before him.

“Good evening. I’ve read your request and can grant your wish.” Indigo had to take a deep breath in order to go on. “Tell me, are you attending the festivities in the city for the queen’s name day?”

The beautiful man still stood. He cast a glance at the chair positioned an arm’s length away from Indigo’s own seat. His ocean eyes regarded Indigo, filling with amusement and kindness. “May I sit?”

Indigo closed his eyes for a second. He couldn’t control the desire that zapped through his body. Amazed by his reaction, he forced himself to nod calmly. “Of course, forgive my discourtesy.”

Darian O’Harr gave him a smile. “Thank you.” He drew aside his cloak, revealing an almost transparent cotton shirt that did nothing to conceal his hard muscled chest and allowing the sides of the cloak to fall over his hips, he sat.

Indigo feasted on the sight—dark, glossy hair, cut in a style that showed off the planes of his delectably handsome face and lips that enticed kisses. This man was his dream personified. It was heartbreaking. Indigo wondered if he’d be able to conjure the spell to give Darian O’Harr the lover he asked for. Indigo wanted Darian so much, his stomach ached, his chest hurt, his magic retreated under the blue gaze of the client.

“I, er, I will conjure the circumstances so that your wish is fulfilled. I note, I note that you prefer men.” Indigo glanced away from the expectant stare of this hunk before him. By all the stars why… He gathered his magic as sadness weighed on his shoulders. The only man I’ve seen in years who stirs my soul and I have to conjure another man to be his lover. He drove away the thoughts, and concentrated on a place, a time, a man who loosely fit the description Darian had written on the request document.
In his mind’s eye, he saw the man, walking past a small marquee, the night lit with fireworks to celebrate the queen’s name day. Indigo pushed for the spell and raised his hands to form the magic into the usual glowing silver sphere

“Stop.” His client stood and grasped Indigo’s hands in his own cool, strong palms.
